Zoo Snooze

Melanie and her first grade class went to the Portland zoo on May 7th to spend the night. I told Don that he should write this blog - since he was the one that went with her. He said - "Do you want it done this year?" - so thus I am going to do it... He and Melanie went to the zoo Wednesday evening. They got there about 5pm - some of the activities they did were: a night time safari, behind-the-scenes tours of giraffes, tigers, wolves, monkeys, sea otters, bats, black bears and polar bears; up-close animal presentations of different birds, insects, and reptiles; animal doctor; visited discovery stations, and made enrichment toys (food for the otters) and fed the otters. Mel also wanted me to write that they had a pizza dinner, snacks, and cereal for breakfast. They all (kids & parents) slept in sleeping bags in one of the workshop rooms. Melanie had such a fun time! Here some cute photos and a video of the zoo:

I enjoyed the pictures. What a life long memory for Don and Mel. I marvel at your stamina! In Texas you'll have to stop by and take a swim and relax!

Wow you were being watched over. We are glad that you were not hurt when your tire flew off. How scary. Our washer decided to quit, by not remembering how to turn the water off when if was filling up a load we had water all over the washroom. But thank goodness we were here to catch it. We have a friend who went to the park and her whole house was flooded when she came back.
