My birthday was Friday. (Now, don't ask me how old I am.) After Courtney finished gymnastics practice, I met Don and we drove down to Portland. We dropped the kids at his parents and went out to eat. We went to the Macaroni Grill. The food was great. Last time we went there, we both didn't enjoy the food too much. I was feeling nauseous and for some crazy reason I decided to order a lemonade. Well, that made it even worse. And then to top it off, I ordered a sampler plate which had really rich/heavy foods - lasagna, etc. So after a few bites, and having a really messed up stomach - I couldn't eat anymore. Don just plain didn't like the lasagna. He said it tasted like microwave lasagna. He wrote a letter to complain & voila they sent us a nice letter, called to appologized, and sent us $20 of food gift certificates.
This time around, we had no complaints. I had a delicious pasta dish & Don had a delicious shrimp & pasta dish. We were both pleased. Our waitress was even great. I even got a huge piece of chocolate birthday cake - free for my birthday -(which was great - since I didn't even have my ID with me to prove it was my birthday). We wanted to go to a movie, but since we started out so late (after Courtney's practice) and Don has been getting up at 4:45am every morning, we were too tired and went home. We'll go out for a movie sometime soon. Thanks to Grandma/pa Coates for watching the kids. They had a great time playing at their house :)
On Sunday, Don made me Lebanese food. He even made his own Pita Bread. It was better than any pita bread I have ever tasted before. And then for dessert, we had Strawberry shortcake. Yummy! I made some great birthday wishes, so we'll see if they come true :)

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! We love you even if you grew up in the 80's! :) We need to see some pictures of you back in the day with your poofie hair.
Sorry I've been so bad about cards this year so you won't get one, I'll just admit it now. I love sending them but I've been too lazy to do them...tell Melanie were sorry too. Next year. I promise!
I know I called you on your birthday (you 38 year old.) Ha your only one year younger then me right now. Anyway you look great for being 38.
