Emma's Birthday

Emma's 4th birthday.
Grandma & Grandpa Coates came & Grandma Broderick came from Arizona -- what a treat to have her fly up & visit us.

Blowing out her Candles. Emma wanted pink cake with pink frosting.

Opening all her gifts.

Looking beautiful with all her new jewelry

Posing with her beautiful jewelry & new gifts.

Dayton loved the car! He didn't care what color it was-- It's a CAR!! VROOMMMM!

Great Grandma Coates' 90th Birthday Party

Great Grandma Coates had her 90th birthday party at a restaurant in McMinnville. Family from California, Oregon, Washington (us), & far away (can't remember exactly where) came. We had a fun time visiting with everyone.

Her Birthday Cake -- it's a picture of Yosemite where her family used to gather for camping trips.

Grandma, Don, Me, & our rowdy bunch.

Everyone at the party.

Grandma & the kids.

Helping Grandma blow out her candles.

My kids & their 3rd cousins (I think that is what we figured it out to be.)

Oaks Amusement Park (Part 2)

We went to Oaks Park again for a "Back to School" homeschooling day the first Friday of Sept. Dayton came with us this time. We were hoping Don would be able to come too, but he got tied up with work :(

The kids had a fun day & look (somewhat) happy to be here (in this photo).

You can tell by their faces, they are tired of pictures & want to go on rides. Dayton was enthralled with all the rides.

Courtney & Dayton on the airplane ride.

Dayton's first time on the kiddy roller coaster. He rode with me & the three girls rode together. He really didn't enjoy it, but he made it through it without crying. When I asked him if he wanted to go again, he shook his head "no" (very definitely)

Dayton & Emma in the Car Ride. They loved this ride (not too scary for them).

Courtney & Melanie on the Ferris Wheel. They rode on a bunch of scary rides by themselves this time around (didn't get photos of)-- I was shocked that they liked the scary rides, but they did.

Emma (& Mel in the back) flying the jets.

Dayton & Emma in the Car Ride (again).

First Day of School

Courtney & Melanie's first day of school. (They are enrolled in a homelink program where they go to school on Mon & Thurs for science/social studies/creative writing, & I homeschool the other subjects on Tues, Wed, & Thurs.) They love their classes & tell me they can't wait to go to school everyday (which they probably will next year).

Emma's not going to school, but didn't want to be left out of the photo :)

Last Week of Summer

One of the last sunny days of summer. We went to the zoo at the end of August before our membership expired. For some reasons the pictures I took, didn't come out so clear -- (I guess that means it's time for a new camera or the photographer moved too much).

Crawling in a Cave.

FYI - the sizes of the different bears (Grizzly, Sun, Polar, & Black Bear).

Ride 'um Cowboy... these horses weren't quite as fun as the real one they rode earlier this summer.

Courtney & Mel wanted their pictures on the horse too.

Petting a real live snake......

Riding the tractor (Dayton & Emma are fighting over who gets to drive).

The final picture of the day on the goat -- (Mel is showing us her "mean face" , I don't think she wanted to be on the end. She said she felt like she was falling off).

Mission Friend

My friend, Vicky (someone I taught on my mission in Ca.) came up to Portland to visit me. It was so nice to see & visit with her again & her son, Luke. The kids had fun playing with him at Chuck-E-Cheese.

Having fun!

Dayton's Birthday

Dayton's 2nd Birthday
August 20, 2007

He got lots of his favorite -- cars!!

He loved his chocolate cake!!

& he got it twice (once at Grandma & Grandpa's home the Sunday before his birthday & again on his birthday).

He loved it so much, he even licked the plate.

Opening gifts

He loved his cars!!

Catch-up

Since I have one of those "old fashion" cameras that uses film, I am not able to instantly take pictures & upload them.... I had three rolls of film that I just got developed so now I have a lot of new pictures to post. (& yes, I know that Don has a fancy digital camera..... but I don't know how to use it)... But this will probably be one of the last times that I post with pictures from my "old fashion" camera, as we just got a new digital (simple, one step snap, small-one that I can carry in my purse) camera (so now, I just got to figure out how to take pictures & save them & all that jazz).

Pictures from the Park this Summer (so sad our summer is over.... it's back to my favorite season....... RAIN) -- yes I am joking!!

JULY 4TH PARTY

Emma & Grma & Grpa Coates

We (Don & I & kids) decided to dress patriotic this year & we all wore red, white & blue... too bad I didn't get a pic of the family, but here's some of the kids.
