Sleeping Beauty

At the beginning of the year, I signed up with a homeschooling field trip group. I signed up to see several musical throughout the year (about one a month). When I put the kids in school, I was able to cancel the plays that I had signed up for in March & April - but I decided to take the kids out early to see the one in May. It was Sleeping Beauty. It was on a Wednesday at 12pm and the kids get out of school on Wednesday at 1pm - so I would only need to pull them out a couple of hours early. That same morning the kids had an assembly. Courtney got an award for outstanding character, so I went to the assembly to see Courtney (& as luck would have - my camera battery went dead, so I had to take pictures of her with her award later that day.) Anyway, I went to the assembly and then went back home & got everything ready for the play and also got Mel's stuff packed. She was spending the night at the zoo with Don and with her first grade class - so after the play I was just dropping her off at Grandma's house (since Grandma was coming to the play with us too)- that way Don wouldn't have to drive all the way back home and then all the way back out to the zoo in Portland.
The play was really cute - different than the Walt Disney version. Grandma was able to get some pictures of the set before it started (I was busy outside trying to find parking - which was a nightmare - I thought I was going to miss the whole play trying to find a place to park in downtown Portland. Luckily, I was able to finally find a spot many, many blocks away.)
