On Saturday, August 23, Don's mom & Lori's friends threw her a big baby shower. There were a lot of her old friends from Newburg and friends from the Deaf branch there. They played some fun games, and it was great visiting with everyone. The theme was ducks - very cute neutral theme. Lori & Matthew didn't want to find out what they were having until the baby was born. By the way, she just had her baby on Monday night (Sept 29th), she had a little boy (weighed 6 lbs & something). Mom & Baby Andrew are doing well. We are thrilled for them and wished we lived closer to see the new baby boy. Anyways here are some pictures from the shower:
The next day, we went over to Don's parents after church for dinner and had a birthday dinner celebration for Lori's birthday. The girls all had fun making her little gifts.
The Previous Week, Courtney was able to have a sleep over at Grandma/pa Coates' home. She went shopping with grandma at a craft store to buy items for projects to make gifts for Christmas. Grandma and Courtney also went on a walk around their neighborhood and collected leaves and flowers. She (Courtney) also tried to feed the squirrels. After the sleepover, Courtney went on a Daddy-Daughter date with Don. They went to a Bid Flugtag in Portland. Flugtag means flying day. 80,000 people showed up to watch these human flying machines fly off a cliff and drop into the river. They had a fabulous time. I haven't seen pictures yet - but told Don he needed to post them ;) Here are some pictures from the sleepover with Grandma:
Melanie was next to have her special sleepover with Grandma/pa. She went to Izzy's with Grandma and then went shopping at Walmart for a new backpacks and umbrella for school. She had a fabulous time of course. Here are some pics from her sleepover:
