Jack-O-Lanterns

The kids drew their faces on a piece of paper and then Don cut the faces they drew out on the pumpkins. The kids wanted prizes/awards - so we said Emma won MOST SCARIEST, Dayton won MOST HAPPIEST, Courtney won MOST ANGRIEST, and Melanie won MOST BATTIEST (??? don't ask me what that means - Don came up with that award and the kids loved it).

I was really good this year, most years - I usually just throw the pumpkins out. This year, I was trying to be more thrifty so I decided I would not throw away perfectly good pumpkins and buy canned pumpkins to cook with (like I have done in previous years) so I chopped them down and cooked them and smashed them and froze the pumpkins. Today, I made a bunch of yummy pumpkin bread with some of it.
