Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving - despite the fact that we woke up to no heat (and we're not in AZ or Texas yet - so it's cold up here). Some part in the heater went bad the night before & we just noticed it wasn't working a little after 9pm - of course, right after all the stores had closed. And the next day was Thanksgiving - so no hardware stores were open that day, so it was a day without heat. When you wake up in the morning & it's cold - it makes you want to stay cuddled under the covers all day.

However - it made us grateful that we do have heat and all the modern day conveniences that we love and take for granted. I don't know how I ever would have survived if I was a pioneer. Luckily, we spent most of the day at Don's parents and then the next day - Don was able to find the part and fix it. He said it was a real blessing he was able to fix it - as he really had no idea exactly what was wrong and what he needed to do - but thought it was something and hoped it would be fixed by doing "this & that" (you can tell all the technical stuff goes in one ear & out the other) - but I had faith in Don - he is the Mr. "Fix it!!" He's able to fix everything - (& I 'm not joking!)

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving visiting with Don's parents and grandmother. Thanks for all the yummy food and the wonderful company! We love you all!

We are very thankful for all of our blessings that Heavenly Father has blessed us with. We have wonderful family and friends and are thankful for the love and kindness they give to us. We are thankful for our freedoms and for those who sacrifice(d) to ensure these freedoms. We are thankful to have the gospel, and a caring and loving Heavenly Father who watches over us. We are thankful for prayer and that we can always turn to our Heavenly Father for help and guidance in our lives. We our thankful for our Savior and for his life, love, and sacrifice for us. We are thankful for the prophets and scriptures and the truths that we have to help us on our journey through life. We are thankful for the Holy Ghost as a companion - to teach, guide and comfort us and help us feel peace in our hearts. We are thankful for this beautiful earth that we live on. We are thankful for our health and thankful that we are all healthy and well. We are truly blessed!

Yummy!

A Beautiful Poem - I found that expresses my gratitude to God for all that we are blessed with.

Thanksgiving

Let us give thanks to God above,
Thanks for expressions of His love,
Seen in the book of nature, grand
Taught by His love on every hand.

Let us be thankful in our hearts,
Thankful for all the truth imparts,
For the religion of our Lord,
All that is taught us in His word.

Let us be thankful for a land,
That will for such religion stand;
One that protects it by the law,
One that before it stands in awe.

Thankful for all things let us be,
Though there be woes and misery;
Lessons they bring us for our good-
Later 'twill all be understood.

Thankful for peace o'er land and sea,
Thankful for signs of liberty,
Thankful for homes, for life and health,
Pleasure and plenty, fame and wealth.

Thankful for friends and loved ones, too,
Thankful for all things, good and true,
Thankful for harvest in the fall,
Thankful to Him who gave it all.
