Halloween #1

This year we had Halloween three times. The first time was on Oct. 14th - We went to the Courtney and Melanie's school fair. I let the kids decide what they wanted to dress up as (we were doing a family theme - but saving that for the REAL Halloween). So they went through the boxes of costumes and picked what they wanted to be. OK - kind of funny story - Melanie had the hardest time deciding what she wanted to be. She would spend hours looking through this costume magazine ad that we received from a Halloween store. She finally dressed up - in this blue outfit.
I said "Oh, I see you decided to be a dancer."
She said, "Oh no, I am not a dancer - I'm Alice in Wonderland" - She didn't look anything like Alice in Wonderland so she showed me the picture of Alice in Wonderland from the magazine where she was modeling her costume from.
Ok let just say the Alice in Wonderland in the magazine was an adult costume that was more like um... how should I say this nicely... Alice in ummm.... well the words that come to my mind - I shouldn't type on a family blog - but let's just say it was a very seductive costume...
I'm like "Oh, Mel - that's not a very nice costume. It's not really an Alice in Wonderland costume - see the little girls in the Alice in Wonderland costume over here- that is a real Alice in Wonderland costume." Anyways - she still called herself Alice in Wonderland that night...
The school had games, a haunted house, trick or treating through the class-rooms, art and crafts projects, a costume parade, a bingo room (Courtney & Mel won here), a fortune telling room, and a Cake Walk. And I actually won the Cake Walk - I couldn't believe it - because I usually never win things like that. Dayton picked out the cake for us. It was a really fun night for all!!
