The kids & I spent the next two & half weeks - spring cleaning the house & working on the yard--- (and it is still not done), but we got a lot accomplished. Jolene, Wade, & Tanner & Mom came to visit us. Sadly, we had one super hot week up here. 4+ days over 100 degrees and the other days it was in the high 90's, and of course that was the week they came to visit us, so our house was nice and hot with no AC. The day they arrived it was cool & the day the left it cooled down to the 80's again. What you think??? I think they brought the heat with them.
They arrived on Thursday, July 23rd. The next day, they just wanted to take it easy, so we figured we just go to the Rose Garden in Portland & then out to Multnomah Falls. The Rose Garden is beautiful!!! Then we stopped at the park nearby - it a huge park and a fun place for kids to play. Sadly, Jolene left her purse in my mom's van & someone broke the window & stole her purse while the kids were playing. So we spent the rest of the afternoon dealing with that, instead of going out to Multnomah Falls..... what a nice "Welcome to Portland!!" gift that was to them -- that is one nice thing about living out in the boonies, we don't have to worry about locking everything up or things getting stolen (yes, it still happens up here - I'm sure), but all the gangs & junkies that steal mostly hang around the city.
Anyways.... here are some beautiful pictures of the gardens (& the kids - they love posing for the camera)
