The Air Show

We went to the Air Show in Hillsboro for Dayton's birthday. The last time Don & I went to the Air Show it was before we had kids, so it had been over 11 years. We enjoyed watching all the airplanes and air tricks. It is really an amazing show. But probably the kids favorite thing was going around to all the booths that the military had on display & getting free promotional items that the military was passing out (folders, pens, flashlights, pencils, bags, etc.).

It was a beautiful day in the 80's. Being pregnant in the summer has made me a true Northwesterner (Oregonian or Washingtonian) this year. It was 80- 85 & I was dying of heat (like here in the Northwest if it gets 85 degrees - everyone say how hot it is -- normally I say "85 is not hot - but it is perfect"-- however being pregnant, I am hot at 85 degrees.) This year, I was the one typical Oregonians/Washingtonians saying how hot it was at 85 degrees. In the middle of the airshow it started to rain & I was I was so happy saying, "Yay! thank goodness for the rain" I was so hot & the rain felt so nice. Don couldn't even believe I was saying that & loving the rain. (Now normally if I wasn't pregnant, I would be saying -- "what-- more rain - how awful!!") My kids even thought I was crazy because I was so happy it was raining!!

Here are some pictures of the family watching the airshow below:

This fire breathing monster machine thing destroyed cars was part of the show. The kids loved it!
