Melanie & Emma's Dance Recital at Oak's Park

Melanie & Emma had a dance recital at Oak's Park (a small amusement park in Portland) on Sat. June 13th. When we first got there, we had a potluck picnic with all the other 'dance' families and then it was off to the rides. The kids split up -Melanie & Courtney (& sometimes Emma) on the scary rides and Dayton & Emma on the kiddie rides. They all had a blast riding on rides that afternoon (& no lines either, Yay!!!) Here are a ton of pictures of the kids:

Photos of the Rides:

This is Dayton's favorite kind of ride (the non-scary, non-fast type)

Dayton didn't like the kiddie roller coaster, but he went on it for Emma's sake.

The frog jumper (Dayton was happy starting out, but got a bit scared mid way thru)

Emma on the motorcycle (notice the jackets - it is still chilly here in June)

Some of Dayton's favorite rides

Courtney was a good sport and took Dayton on some kiddie rides - here they are on the Merry-Go-Round

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

The train ride -you can tell who was the happiest (Dayton & Emma) about getting on the train by their facial expressions & also tell who really didn't really want to be on a slow train ride (Melanie & Courtney-who tried to fake her smile).

The Cliff Hanger (I didn't get as many pictures of Mel & Court - as they went around with Don)

The girls like these spinner rides (Don & I can't do them any more - even when I'm not pregnant- they just make us tooooooo sick)

Emma even liked this spinner one....

Photos from the Recital:
They both did a really good job. Melanie really enjoys dance and wants to do dance team another year.

Emma danced in three songs.

Melanie's dance team performed, and Melanie danced in three songs too.

Photos from the dance: "Disturbia"
(it's a kind-of like a Michael Jackson's Thriller dance - they won first place at the dance festival in May for this dance)

Photos from the dance: "Circus"

(that's Mel - being held up)
