house plans

We have been obsessed with looking on the internet at house plans for Texas, and we finally found one that we loved that had everything we wanted & that wasn't 5500 sq feet, (since we are trying to downsize). We wanted a house between 3500 - 4000 sq feet so it would be like the two main floors of this house, with a couple extra rooms (since we are not doing a basement or attic in the new house). Unfortunately, we have become house picky since we our building ourselves so we wanted one that had a formal living & dining room, a nook, a family room with high ceilings, a kitchen with an island, an office, 4 bedrooms all upstairs, a craft area for me, a library/loft area on the second floor & a bonus play room for the kids, a food storage area, and a front wrap around porch & a back porch, blah, blah, blah... so everything we looked at with all that stuff was like 5500 sq feet or more. But we finally found one we love that has it all,(except for the wrap around porch - so we just have to extend the existing porch) that was close to the size we wanted. Now, if we can only sell our house & get what we want for it. Anyway, here's the link to the plan (if you care to see), if not wait a few years & hopefully you'll see it in Texas if you come & visit us.

It looks very pretty, I like the circular feel of some of the rooms. I bet you guys can't wait.
We just found out Paul had another stroke last night. He is in ICU. He's only 32. Some of our clients that know him well are in such shock, as Greg calls to get the info on some of there jobs he is having to wait a few days for it to settle in with them, then call back. Its so sad for all of us and especially his family.

Very nice house. Just for the record, and I'm stating this so we have evidence of it. We have wanted a Victorian house with a wrap around pourch first. So while you may be the first in the family to have one, we started it, since we have wanted one longer. There, let there be no arguement about it.

OOH, me like-ie! The layout seems very liveable, I like it a lot. Ideas on where your craft area will be? I vote for what is labeled "loft". It seems like you'd get fantasic lighting in there and it'd be inspirational with all those windows!

aaannndddd.... Michael, um, yeah- I wanted Victorian before you could even SAY Victorian. (head moving in forward rotation with fingers snapping to the side...)

Congrats on finding "the one". It's a tough hunt. A hunt I'm excited to do when we grow up, someday. I'm full of questions, though! I know the area you're going to requires stone on a portion of the front- have you decided on the details yet, or are you just in floorplan/blueprint mode?

Ryan and I have decided to move to New Brunswick or whatever your town is called. That way Don can build OUR dream home, and we can be your pesky neighbors. We also want to make sure that homeschooling is getting done! (You sure to be doing alot of blogging these days)
