We wanted to take the kids to temple square, but Don had never been to see the new Conference Center in SLC - so we stopped by there first. Thinking a tour would only be about 30 minutes or so, we decided to take one, however it ended up being about 2 hours. It was a very interesting tour & we are glad we took it, but it didn't leave us any time to stop by temple square & visit the visitor center, Brigham Young's house, etc. (oh well, we'll save it for another trip).

We met the rest of the family for a picnic lunch at "This is the Place Monument" and then went to Pioneer Village. It was really fun to take the train ride through the town, go in and see some of the old houses where the pioneers lived, the kids got to make several crafts (rag dolls, candles dipping, leather stamping, etc) and ride a pony. There is actually so much to do there, we wished we arrived in the morning instead of after lunch so we could have seen more of the village.

That night we went to the park near Jolene's home and celebrated Tanner's first birthday!! What a cutie!!
