We decided to take a trip to Texas - to enjoy the sun, relax, & check up on our land in New Braunfels. We flew into Austin, Texas Wednesday morning (April 15). We decided to spend the day in Austin. We drove over to the state capital and took a tour of the capital. Then, we went to the Capital Museum. After that, we walked around down town Austin and looked at the sites and ate lunch. After lunch, we went to the Texas State History Museum and then watched an IMAX 3-D movie. Then, it was almost 4pm so we decided to head to the steps of the capital for the Austin, Texas tax T.E.A. party. You know us - one of those extreme right-wing terrorist. It was fabulous to renew our spirit and to be with other conservatives who value our freedoms. A peaceful, law-abiding and amazing time was had by all! . 5000+ folks attended. After the speeches (from State Senator Dan Patrick, Congressman Michael McCaul, Republican activist Joe Petronis, and Free Market Foundation's Jonathan Saenz.) and songs, we walked from the Capitol to the Lake. The crowds walked down Congress Avenue to ceremonially dump boxes into Lady Bird Lake, the crowd stretched from Cesar Chavez Street to the steps of the Capitol. In response, police had to block off four lanes of the street during rush hour. While marching, the crowd spanned from the lake up to the hill! Very impressive. Crates of tea were thrown in the lake and picked up by wild Indians in canoes.
The next day we went to New Braunfels to see our property. It looked the same as it did 2 years ago - just a little more overgrown. When we came down two years ago, they were having record rain falls and flooding (so the grass was much greener & the rivers much fuller). This year the grass was brown and the rivers were lower. We walked around our property for a while and then drove around the development. We drove over to the river park and the club house in the development and walked/looked around & soaked everything in. After that, we drove down to Historic Gruene, Texas & walked around all the little unique stores & just window shopped. Then we went to down town New Braunfels & walked/looked around. After wards, we caught a movie (Taken - what a thriller movie that was), and then out to dinner at one of our Favorite Restaurants. A German Place called Oma's Haus. We love the food there!!! Delicious!!!
The first slide show are photos of our property in River Chase (the development where we one day will live):

Day Three We went down to San Antonio & hung out there. We went to the River Walk - we just love that place. It was a bit rainy that day (just our luck - that we brought some rain with us), but it cleared up in the afternoon so we were able to enjoy walking around the river and eating outdoors on the river. Day Four, we went to New Braunfels again. While we were at our property, we were able to meet our neighbors. We also did some shopping. We stopped at Capella for the first time - it's an outdoor, hunting, camping store & and a museum all rolled into one. Here are some pictures of San Antonio, Gruene, Capella's, and various other places:

It's so funny because Trace and Jessica every once in awhile ask when we are going to go visit you guys in Texas. I let them know first you have to move there and then you have to build your home. Congratulations on a healthy baby girl. They do those tests to all women over 35, so don't stress about it. Your such a superwoman.
It must have been nice to go back and rekindle your love for New Braunfels! Glad it was such a good trip. You look great in the photos- you do pregnancy so well!
