Christmas Trip -Day 4 & 5 (Dec 30 - 31)

Dec 30
Some of the gang went and played basketball in the morning and later went to see Valkyrie. I wish I could have gone because it sounds like I would have really liked that movie. Usually, when we are in Tucson, that is the only time we usually go to the theater & darn we didn't get to do it this year. In the morning, Don went over and helped Teresa with projects around their house and I cleaned the car, did laundry, etc. Then in the afternoon Don & I had to go and get our tire fixed, get an oil change, and get the battery checked on the car (ya know all that fun stuff).... but luckily we were able to enjoy a delicious Eegees slush while we were out. We wish we had Eegees up here.

Later that night, we went on an adult date night to a Japanese Steak house. They did the cooking right in front of us. It was pretty fun to watch all the fancy cooking. I was able to try scallops that night, & realized I do not like scallops. I didn't order it (thank goodness), but Dana let me try hers and it is basically like chewing fat. You just keep chewing and it never breaks up and then you swallow it because you can't do anything else. We didn't get any pictures of the restaurant either. It was fun to be out with everyone. Alyssa and Brianne watched all kids & just our luck Dayton got sick and threw up while we were out.

Dec. 31
Everyone (except Dana & I who were stayed home with sick kids -Dayton & Tory) went on a hike in East Tucson. We had really warm weather while we were down there. (My kids wanted to pack all shorts & short sleeve shirts but I made them pack long with only 2 short sleeve shirts & all the rest long sleeve - and it turned out I should have packed the other way around as it was short sleeve warm weather all week.) They all had a really nice time on the hike. I wish I could have gone.

That night we had a fiesta themed New Years Eve Celebration. Greg and Shelley's family made it down. We bought tamales from Costco, made tacos, and nachos. We had a late dinner, chatted & visited with each. I can't remember if we watched a movie on t.v. or not, but by the time New Years came around we were all tired.

Happy New Year!!

FUN to see all your pictures and to read everything! I have the pictures of New Years from the other side of the room.

Hello Gaylynne! Your kids are darling. Did you know that we homeschool? I didn't know that you did until I read your Christmas letter. Hope you are well!
